Family travel as a youth can lead to some of the brightest memories we reflect back on as adults. As a child, I developed a love for adventure early on through visiting cities across the US, and beyond like Loreto Mexico.
Looking back, the various methods of transportation and meeting new people along the way is what stood out the most in my mind. I now realize that had it not been for my family introducing me to travel early on, it probably would have taken me longer to develop confidence and an adventurous spirit.
Places like Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto Mexico introduce children to adventure during travel by offering a ton of activities within the confines of the resort. During a recent trip there, I came across fellow adventurers there on holiday enjoying the scenic views, crystal blue pools, and sandy beaches with their families.
Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto is a private resort located in northern Mexico. The placid environment literally places you between a rock and an ocean. Set against a mountain backdrop, the resort faces the blue waters and sandy beaches of Danzate Bay. Parents can replenish their senses, while as they watch the kids take on the excitement of experiencing two environments that come together to create an oasis.
Through activities hosted by the resort, guests first decide if they want to take part in land or sea activities. From there they decide if they want to operate as group or separately. Keep in mind the resort provides certified babysitters that guests can request at the front desk. The options are boundless, all it requires is imagination.
During my stay, I embarked upon a leisurely 30 minute boat ride to a private island where lunch was served. The waves created by the boat channeled nearby dolphins to come and swim alongside us until we docked. Outside of a trip to Sea World years back, I had never seen dolphins up close and personal. But the real treat was watching the children’s reactions to creatures they had only seen in story books. All guests have the option to reserve private time on Del Carmen Island, lounge at the pool, or walk along sands of the resort beach.
With food being a major deciding factor for family travel I decided to save the best for last. Regardless if you are vegan, gluten free, vegetarian, carnivore, or EVERYTHING-A-TARIAN; Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto employs award winning chefs that create according to your dietary needs and indulgences. During my 4 day stay, I enjoyed dishes such as their baked chocolate clams, tortilla soup, Spanish style briskets, ribs, tacos, and grilled shrimp to name a few. There were so many options I didn’t know where to begin nor end. Do I regret eating my weight in food? No, not at all [ha ha ha]. To my credit, I did hit their state-of-the art gym on a daily basis.
Regardless if you are experiencing Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto as a family, couple, or solo; the ease of your experience at the all-inclusive resort will be one you will never forget. Memories of past trips stand out so vividly they reach back in to scoop me up.
I compare my time at the resort to falling in love. Although there are other places to visit, I don’t have the need to go looking for the perfection I have already discovered on the islands of Loreto.
Have you ever traveled to Loreto or any other part of Mexico? What fun travels have you experienced with your kids?
